UNIFIL in Lebanon

Jeff Goldstein at Protein Wisdom has a few choice words for the UN and UNIFIL considering their actions during the Israeli-Hezbollah conflict:

Astounding. Frightening. Despicable. And yet, these are the people who claim a mandate to police the world. From The Weekly Standard, “What did you do in the war, UNIFIL?”:

DURING THE RECENT month-long war between Hezbollah and Israel, U.N. “peacekeeping” forces made a startling contribution: They openly published daily real-time intelligence, of obvious usefulness to Hezbollah, on the location, equipment, and force structure of Israeli troops in Lebanon.

...So long as we continue to allow the rhetorical of emotionalism frame the international narratives of war, the group most willing to exploit that emotionalism—whether through doctored photographs, appeals to the moral authority, disinformation campaigns, scapegoating, and speciou equivocations—has the upper hand in the “hearts and minds” battle.
Read the whole thing. Disgusting.
